If money is not the issue.... Then...?

Whenever I can, I try to donate, volunteer, and help others in need. But life gets in a way and sometimes it's hard to share your limited resources (time, money, etc). ⁣

"Commit to practicing generosity in my thinking, speaking, and acting." It's one of my favorite teachings by Thich Nhat Hanh. --I think this is a great way to contribute anywhere, anytime! ⁣

This is a quick and easy way to practice generosity. It's a win-win situation for you and others. When you're generous with your thoughts, you feel wealthy. Because generosity usually comes from a place of abundance.⁣

People can be kind but deprived inside. I know how it feels because I've done it. I wanted to take care of others first because I wanted to be kind and caring. But inside, I was not happy. I was frustrated with myself. Not taking good care of myself before anyone else. ⁣

Why was I so frustrated? It's because I thought I didn't have enough. I didn't have enough willpower, time, resources, and self-control.⁣

What I know now is that I am enough. I don't have to seek outside for something to fulfill me. Through mindfulness practice, I gained generosity in my thinking and speaking. At times, I may not have enough time or money, but I know I can be generous in my thoughts and words. ⁣

So this week, "Commit to practicing generosity in your thinking, speaking, and acting!"⁣
